SWCD Ag Scholarship and Sponsors

The Knox SWCD is in the second year of awarding an Agricultural/Environmental Scholarship to eligible Knox County seniors.  The scholarship is a two year renewable $500 award.  Applicants for this scholarship must be pursuing a degree in the fields of Agriculture, Conservation or Natural Resources.  Home schooled students are eligible as well.  Educational institutions of study may include technical colleges, two year associate and four year bachelor degree programs.

The Knox Soil & Water Conservation District generates funds for this scholarship through a Silent Auction which is held each year during the district's Annual Meeting.  Auction items are donated by various local businesses which include those listed to the right.  If you are interested in donating a items for the 2010 auction, please contact Katie Hux at 393-6724.

To obtain an application, please see your local high school guidance counselor or download the application form.    The deadline for the applications is April 1st by 4:00 p.m. in the Knox SWCD office.  The scholarship recipient will receive their award during their school's award assembly held in the spring.
