The Knox SWCD is in
the second year of awarding an Agricultural/Environmental Scholarship to eligible
Knox County seniors. The scholarship is a two year renewable $500 award.
Applicants for this scholarship must be pursuing a degree in the fields of
Agriculture, Conservation or Natural Resources. Home schooled students are
eligible as well. Educational institutions of study may include technical
colleges, two year associate and four year bachelor degree programs.
The Knox
Soil & Water Conservation District generates funds for this
scholarship through a Silent Auction which is held each year
during the district's Annual Meeting. Auction items are
donated by various local businesses which include those listed
to the right. If you are interested in donating a items
for the 2010 auction, please contact Katie Hux at 393-6724.
To
obtain an application, please see your local high school guidance counselor or
download the application form. The deadline for the
applications is April 1st by 4:00 p.m. in the Knox SWCD
office. The scholarship recipient will receive their award during their
school's award assembly held in the spring.
The
