Hardwood Packet (15 trees/ 3 varieties)

Tulip Poplar:  Oval to round crown.  Beautiful yellow, tulip-like flowers attract honey bees.  Bright green foliage turns yellow in fall.  Needs full sun and plenty of space.  Grows 70-90 feet with a spread of 35-50 feet.  Good to use to fill in vacant spots in tree plants.

Red Maple: Symmetrical tree, grows 40 to 60 feet tall in normal or wet soils. Scarlet flowers in early spring: leaves are brilliant red in autumn.

White Oak: A large (90 feet) majestic native tree with wide spreading branches and leaves of blue-green which turn wine colored in the fall.  Tolerates most soils except those very wet.  It has a slow to medium growth rate.  An extremely valuable timber tree and provides acorns for wildlife.
