

A natural drainage areas of a field which is graded and seeded to a grass cover to protect the field from gully erosion. Vegetation acts as a filter, absorbing some of the chemicals and nutrients in runoff water rather than the runoff water washing away the soil and forming erosion. The vegetation also provides cover for small birds and animals.
Those individuals who have installed this practice in 2007-2008 includes; Charlie Bratton-Brown Township; Gary Curry-Harrison Township; Jack Curtis-Monroe Township; Doug Grassbaugh-Monroe Township and Robert Griffith-Hilliar Township.
