Each year the district sponsors an individual(s) to attend the Ohio Forestry Camp held at Camp Muskingum in Carroll County in June. The camp is open to students who are 15 years of age and have completed the 8th grade. The camp is primarily an academic camp with classes covering tree identification, silviculture, ecology, and forest products.   The camp also includes recreational activities.  $250 scholarship applications may be picked up at the Knox SWCD office or by calling 393-6724.  The 2010 camp will be held on June 13th-18th.  For more information about the camp please click on www.ohioforest.org and click on Services and Forestry Wildlife Camp for a camp brochure or camp application.  Please mail the camp applications to the Knox SWCD, 1025 Harcourt Road, Mount Vernon OH 43050 by May 5th, 2010.
